You finally made that call to schedule your first appointment—now what?  Understandably, you may feel anxious about what to expect.

When you contact our Intake Department, we will take a brief history and gather some basic demographic and insurance information.  The Intake Representative will schedule you for an intake assessment with one of our therapists.  We ask that you arrive for your first appointment 15 to 30 minutes early to review your insurance information and complete the necessary forms.   

The therapist will ask you questions and gather information about you and, if needed, your family members.  This is your opportunity to ask questions and address your concerns.  Together, you and your therapist will examine the concerns that brought you to Genesis Behavioral Health.  With this information, you and your therapist will set goals for treatment and create an individual service plan.  If your therapist thinks medication could help, you will be referred to one of our medical providers for further evaluation.

Your treatment plan may include various support services.  Working with our care managers, we can refer and link you to resources that meet your needs, such as housing, employment, nutrition, fuel assistance and other programs.  

You have taken the first step to charting your course back to wellness.  We look forward to working with you on  your journey.
