Who We Are at Genesis Behaviorial Health
Community Support Services at Genesis Behavioral Health
Imagine hearing voices in your head as soon as you wake up each day. Or feeling so depressed for months and even years on end that you can’t get out of bed or leave your home.

People in our communities live with serious mental illnesses that prohibit them from living lives that so many of us take for granted. Without help, holding down a job is impossible. Maintaining a home is implausible. Sharing life with others is improbable.

Support in the Community

Community Support Services at GBH help adults (18-65 years old) with a serious mental illness remain in the community and as independent as possible. It provides a safety net for people with severe impairment.

Services are provided based on each client’s needs. A Genesis Case Manager will work with the individual and his or her family (as indicated) to identify which services are needed. A service plan will then be created based on that person’s needs.

Individual and group therapy may be part of the plan. Some clients may be able to return to some type of employment with vocational coaching provided by Genesis staff. Others may benefit from living in a structured housing program.

Who Is Eligible?

Standards drawn up by the State of New Hampshire determine who is eligible to receive Community Support Services. If someone does not meet the State’s guidelines, GBH can help make referrals to others services or agencies.
