For over 40 years, we at Genesis Behavioral Health (GBH) have worked to enhance the quality of life in our communities by providing mental health services that help people lead independent lives. We ask that you join with other GBH friends in assisting us in our efforts. Since opening our doors in July 1966, our mental health center has grown from one employee and a budget of $39,000 to over 125 employees and a budget of over $7.5 million. Our field has transformed as well from institutionalization to community based care, from terminal illness to recovery, from pen and paper to telemedicine, from crippling stigma to broader understanding. But for as much as things have changed, we still confront some of the same challenges. An increase in the uncertainty of the Medicaid system and the exponential growth of the number of people seeking mental health services continue to place strain on our staff, our buildings, and our resources. Today, ask you to consider making a gift to GBH.
